Introducing our ThisWorld Original film: “Land of a New Tomorrow: Costa Rica” a captivating exploration of Costa Rica’s extraordinary natural beauty and the vital importance of wildlife conservation. Filmed by the talented duo Eric Hedenfalk & Cyber Jones Blardony, this film takes you on a journey through Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes and highlights the critical efforts to protect its diverse ecosystems.

Costa Rica is renowned for its rich biodiversity, boasting an incredible array of wildlife species found nowhere else on Earth. From the lush rainforests of Corcovado National Park to the pristine beaches of Tortuguero National Park, every corner of this remarkable country teems with life.

Why is wildlife conservation so crucial? The answer lies in the delicate balance of ecosystems and the interconnectedness of all living beings. By preserving Costa Rica’s biodiversity, we not only protect its unique flora and fauna but also ensure the health and well-being of future generations.

One of the greatest threats to Costa Rica’s biodiversity is the expansion of palm oil plantations, which have a devastating impact on local ecosystems. These plantations contribute to deforestation and habitat loss, posing a significant challenge to wildlife conservation efforts. Costa Rica is also home to inspiring success stories, such as the Children’s Eternal Rainforest. This remarkable initiative demonstrates the power of community-led conservation efforts in safeguarding critical habitats for future generations.

Another key focus of conservation efforts in Costa Rica is the preservation of its marine ecosystems, including the protection of endangered sea turtle populations. Through initiatives like the Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica is leading the way in sea turtle conservation, ensuring these creatures have a safe haven to nest and thrive.

Central to Costa Rica’s conservation success is the involvement of local communities. By educating and empowering locals, Costa Rica is creating sustainable livelihoods that prioritize environmental preservation. From eco-tourism to conservation-based jobs, Costa Rica demonstrates that economic prosperity and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

We want to express our deepest thank you’s tireless efforts of conservationists to protect all the wildlife in Costa Rica. Together, we can create a new tomorrow where humans and nature thrive in harmony.
